What are baking trays?
Baking trays are objects where food is cooked in an oven. Here, the items to be baked are arranged in the tray the put in the oven to cook.
They can be of different shapes that include round, muffin tin, multiple patterns edge and rectangular. The choice of which one is to be used depends on what is being baked.
These goodies come with different features but some of the usual ones include: lips on the edges, this ensures that food doesn’t fall off the edges either when it is being put in the oven or being taken out.Handles, this is where one holds when carrying it around. They are also insulated ensuring that food doesn’t burn. Some are also
coated ensuring food doesn’t stick. One side of the tray is usually flat to helpdrop down the baked item once it’s ready.
Baking trays can be made of silicon, glass or metallic. Silicon made is easy to clean and has the ability to withstand very high temperatures, and that is why they are being considered by modern inventors. However, they are also non-rigid and require a firm base support, especially if what is being baked is heavy. Although glass is considered for conducting heat evenly, they are also fragile and need to behandled with a lot of care. Metals are the most preferred and can be made of tinned steel, carbon steel or aluminium. They are more durable and require comparatively less care.
The material used determines the durability and stacking strength of baking trays. The heavier the tray, the better the ability to withstand high temperatures. This helps avoid warping. On the other hand thestronger the material, the more the stacking strength. These products can be greased using melted butter or oil.
One of the major manufacturers of quality baking trays is D and V plastics.
